Privacy Policy
Dial Player is a media player for LG webOS and Samsung Tizen televisions. This policy explains what the application and this website collect, why, and what we never collect.
1. Content you add
Playlists, programme guides (EPG) and their credentials are stored on your television and are downloaded directly from the URLs you configure. We do not proxy, inspect, log or store the contents of your playlists, and we never receive the names of the channels, films or programmes you watch.
2. Account and devices
Premium features require an account. We store your email address, your subscription status and one record per linked television (a device identifier, the name you give it, and the dates it was linked and last seen) so that your Premium licence can be applied on your devices. You can rename or unlink any device, and delete your account and all of this data, from the account section of this website.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach our servers; we receive only the resulting subscription status and identifiers needed to keep your Premium access valid.
4. Anonymous usage statistics
The application can send anonymous usage statistics (screens opened, features used, playback engine and tune-in times, and classified error codes) to help us find bugs and decide what to build. These events are tied to a random identifier generated on the device — never to your email or your television's serial number. They never contain channel, programme or film names, search text, playlist, guide or stream URLs, or hostnames. If your television is linked to an account, the events also carry a second random identifier that stands for that account, so we can see how the website and the television are used together — for example, that a linking code shown on a television was completed here. That identifier is not your account number and means nothing outside our own database, which is the only place it can be connected to an account; we can break that connection without deleting your account. You can turn all of this off at any time in Settings → About → "Send anonymous statistics"; turning it off deletes the random identifier, and turning it back on creates a new one.
5. Crash reports
When the application fails, it can send a crash report (the error, where in our code it happened, and the app version, browser tier and platform version of the device) so we can fix it. URLs are removed from these reports before they are sent, because playlist and stream addresses can contain your provider credentials. Crash reports carry no account identifier and no device identifier.
6. This website
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and an anti-abuse check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on the sign-in and device-linking forms. Page views are recorded with the same anonymous analytics described above; while you are signed in they carry the same second random account identifier, so activity here can be compared with activity on a linked television. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and session recording is disabled.
7. Retention and deletion
Account, device and subscription data live for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes them, along with your linked devices and the record that connects usage statistics to your account; billing records that we are legally required to keep are retained by Stripe under their own terms. Statistics and crash reports are anonymous and are kept for a limited period by our providers.
8. Processors
We use Supabase (accounts and database, EU), Stripe (payments), PostHog (anonymous statistics, EU), Sentry (crash reports), Cloudflare (hosting and anti-abuse) and Vercel (hosting of this website). Each processes data only to provide these services.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to its processing. Use the account section of this website, or write to support@dialplayer.com.
10. Children
The application is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced in the application or on this website before they take effect.
